Notifications and activity
Find work that needs attention, follow mentions, and review what happened to a record or conversation.
Notifications gathers actionable work and recent updates from your workspace. It helps you notice a due count, a delivery, a mention, or a pending request, then opens the relevant place to act. Chat and individual records also keep activity close to the work.
Use the notification inbox
Open Notifications to see work and updates relevant to your current workspace and permissions. Tasks appear first, with more urgent work ahead of less urgent work. Recent updates follow in date groups. The badge reflects items that currently need attention.
Use the app tabs to show All or focus on one app. An item’s title or action opens the related count, order, record comment, chat message, or workspace screen. The inbox only includes sources available to your workspace and work you are allowed to see.
Marking an update as read clears its notification state. It does not complete a count, receive an order, approve a request, or change the underlying record. Actionable tasks reflect the source work and can remain until that work is addressed. When you filter to one app, Mark all as read applies to the visible filtered updates.
- Open Notifications and scan the tasks at the top.
- Use the action on a task to open the workflow that needs attention.
- Open a mention or chat update to read it in context.
- Mark an update as read once you have seen it, or choose Mark all as read for the visible list.
What can appear
This list describes supported sources, not a promise that every user will see every type. For example, a person without permission to review submitted counts will not receive the same review queue as an inventory manager.
- Counts due. Counts assigned to you and scheduled counts that come due or run late. The entry can include progress and due-date context.
- Counts to review. Submitted counts waiting to be applied, when your permissions allow you to review that work.
- Incoming deliveries. Purchase orders assigned to you that are expected soon or are overdue.
- Mentions in records. A comment on an accessible record that mentions you. Opening it returns to the record discussion.
- Messages and mentions. Direct messages, chat mentions, followed-thread replies, and channel traffic according to your conversation notification level.
- Reminders. Follow-ups you set on messages saved for later.
- Added to a channel. A rule, invitation, or administrator adding you to a channel.
- Workspace membership. Pending invitations, including expired ones, and requests to join the workspace when you can manage them.
- Credits. Credit usage or expiry notices that call for attention.
Choose which types notify you
Open Notification settings from the inbox or User Settings. The settings group notification types by the app they belong to. Turn an individual type off when you no longer want those updates in your inbox, and turn it back on to resume them. Changes save automatically.
The in-app inbox is the notification delivery channel currently implemented. There are no general email, browser-push, or mobile-push notification controls to enable here. Product emails such as invitations or account messages are separate workflows.
The inbox itself stays enabled. Type switches control the categories shown, while chat conversation preferences provide a more specific way to quiet a single conversation. Credit notices are handled separately from the ordinary per-type switches.
Quiet one conversation
A notification preference does not remove you from a channel or change who can see its messages. Broad mentions still follow the conversation’s membership and permissions. If a message or conversation becomes inaccessible, its notification does not grant you access to it.
- All messages. Receive updates for conversation traffic, not only direct mentions.
- Mentions. Focus on mentions and replies in threads you follow. Direct messages normally notify you for every message unless you mute them.
- Muted. Keep the conversation out of your notifications. You can still open and read it.
- Timed mute. Mute for 15 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 8 hours, or 24 hours, or until you turn notifications back on.
Turn a message into a follow-up
Saving is personal. It does not pin the message for everyone or assign work to another person. Saved messages still follow the workspace’s chat retention policy, so saving does not preserve a message beyond its expiration.
- Open a message’s More actions menu and choose Save for later.
- Open Later in the Chat list to find your saved messages.
- Choose Remind tomorrow when you want an inbox reminder the next morning in your configured timezone.
- Choose Complete when handled, or Reopen to bring a completed follow-up back. Remove from Later on the message when you no longer need it saved.
Read activity where the work happened
Chat’s Activity section gathers mentions, thread replies, and conversation traffic. Open an entry to return to the discussion. This is useful when you want to catch up on conversation updates without switching to the broader notification inbox.
A record’s comments and history keep its discussion and changes together. Calendar events are ordinary records too, so Comments and history on an event opens the same kind of detail. Mentions in a record comment can notify the named person when they have access.
Agent responses can include an Activity disclosure containing completed operations, supporting records, receipts, and per-record results. Use those links to inspect the outcome, especially when the agent reports partial completion or stopped work. Workspace security activity and credit history have their own settings pages for their respective events.
