Inventory dashboards and reports
Build your Inventory Overview dashboard and explore stock value, usage, count accuracy, and forecasts.
Inventory Tracking reports turn recorded stock movements and applied counts into practical summaries. Use the four built-in reports to understand value, consumption, counting differences, and expected demand.
Build your Inventory Overview dashboard
Inventory Tracking Overview provides a personal widget canvas for day-to-day monitoring. Choose Add widget to open the searchable library, then add the summaries you use most.
The nine widget types are Low stock, Inventory value, Stock movement, Top items, Open purchase orders, Incoming deliveries, Active counts, Count accuracy, and Quick access. Widgets open the relevant inventory page, order, count, or report where supported.
- Choose Add widget and select a widget from the library.
- Drag widgets to arrange them and use their resize controls to change the space each receives. Keyboard controls are also available on the widget controls.
- For widgets with a period control, choose 7, 30, or 90 days.
- Open a widget's options to Refresh data or Remove widget.
Layouts are stored in your browser rather than shared with the workspace. The dashboard supports up to 40 widgets; role permissions and the reports feature still govern the data shown.
Choose the question you want to answer
Open Reports and use the report switcher. The first three reports offer Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 12 months, and Custom range. Demand forecast uses a future horizon instead of a historical date range.
Report selection and range are represented in the page URL, which helps you return to the same setup or share the link with a teammate who has access.
- Value & movement. How has inventory value changed, and how much stock has been received or distributed?
- Usage. Which items are being consumed, how quickly, and at what current value?
- Count accuracy. How often do counted quantities match the stock Matte expected?
- Demand forecast. What usage is predicted over the next 7, 14, or 30 days based on recent distributions?
Read Value & movement
The summary cards show Value now, Value change, receipt transactions, and distribution transactions. The inventory value chart shows stock value over time, and the movement chart compares receipts and distributions.
The By item table shows received quantity, distributed quantity, net change, and current value, with each item's unit. These are useful for checking whether a period's activity matches what your team remembers.
Dollar figures use current item unit prices. Changing today's item price can change the value displayed for earlier stock levels. This is an operational current-price view, not an accounting report of historical purchase costs or cost layers.
If prices are missing, quantity and transaction information can still be useful, but aggregate dollar figures may be unavailable. Add consistent item prices before relying on value comparisons.
Read Usage
Usage measures distributions: stock recorded as handed out or shipped. It shows Consumed value, Active items with usage, distribution transactions, and an average daily run rate.
Top items ranks the leading items by consumed value when prices are available, or by consumed quantity when they are not. The table provides consumed quantity, usage per day, value, and a trend sparkline.
An item being transferred between rooms is not automatically consumption. Likewise, a waste adjustment or a count correction is a different movement type. Record real distributions consistently if you want the usage report to represent demand.
When comparing quantities, consider each item's unit. Ten cases of one product and ten grams of another are not equivalent amounts merely because their numbers match.
Read Count accuracy
This report includes counts that have been applied in the selected period. Entering or submitting a count is not enough; the result must have been applied to the stock ledger.
Accuracy is the percentage of counted lines that exactly match expected stock. The report shows Counts applied, Lines counted, Lines with variance, and the overall accuracy percentage. A trend chart and applied-count table show where differences occurred.
Open a count from the table to investigate its rows. A low score does not explain the cause by itself: incorrect units, missing receipts, unrecorded distributions, or a delay between counting and application can all create differences.
Blank rows in partial counts are not counted as confirmed zeros. Review the actual counted lines rather than assuming a partly completed count checked the entire location.
Use a report in a review
The export follows the report's returned rows. It is not a guaranteed export of every raw transaction in the workspace. The Usage and Demand forecast surfaces default to a limited set of items, and Value & movement also caps its item table. Use the appropriate record or activity export when you need transaction-level detail.
- Choose the report that matches the question.
- Select a historical range or a forecast horizon. For a custom historical range, check both dates.
- Read the summary cards, then use the item or count table to identify the records behind the result.
- Check the relevant item, stock movement, receipt, shipment, or count before changing an operational record.
- Use the export action to download the report's returned table rows as CSV. Keep the report name and period with the file when sharing it.
Access and empty results
Reports requires the reports feature on the workspace plan and reports.view permission. The app's report surfaces are fixed built-in reports, rather than a general custom-report designer.
If a report is empty, check whether the selected period has the relevant activity. Usage needs distributions, Count accuracy needs applied counts, and Demand forecast needs recent recorded consumption. A wider date range can help historical reports, while a forecast remains based on its trailing window.
For reliable interpretation, keep units, dates, and item prices consistent. Reports describe the activity recorded in Matte; they cannot include a delivery or stock withdrawal that was never entered.
